Privacy Policy Last updated: Mar 10, 2026 GeoTag ("we," "our," or "us") operates the GeoTag mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the App. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Information We Collect 1.1 Account and Profile Information When you create an account or log in, we collect: - Username — used to sign in and identify your account. - Password — used to authenticate you (stored and processed by our backend). - Optional profile data — such as email address, state, district, block, ring, and child ring, if you or your organization provide them. This information is stored on our servers (Supabase) and may be cached on your device so you can stay signed in. 1.2 Location Data When you use the App to record a survey session, we collect: - Precise location data — latitude, longitude, and optional accuracy (in meters) for each point in your route. - Timestamps — the time of each recorded point relative to the start of the session. Location data is collected only while the recording screen is active (foreground use). We do not collect location in the background. We use this data to: - Build and store your GPS track for each survey session. - Display your route and session details in the App. - Allow you to upload sessions to our backend for analysis or reporting. 1.3 Session and Survey Data For each recording session, we collect and store: - Session name and date/time. - Region information — state, district, and optionally block, ring, and child ring. - GPS track — the full list of location points and timestamps for that session. This data is stored on your device and, if you choose to upload, also on our servers. 1.4 Data We Do Not Collect - We do not collect or process photos, videos, or audio. - We do not collect your contacts, messages, or call logs. - We do not use the App for advertising or third-party analytics in a way that identifies you. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. How We Use Your Information We use the information described above to: - Provide the App — sign you in, store and display your sessions, and let you record, upload, and export GPS tracks. - Associate data with your account — link survey sessions and tracks to your user profile and region. - Operate our backend — store uploaded tracks and survey metadata so you or your organization can access them. - Improve the App — for example, by fixing errors or improving performance (we do not sell your data for marketing or analytics). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Where Your Data Is Stored 3.1 On Your Device - Account information — your username and profile data may be cached on your device so you remain logged in. - Session list — metadata for each recording (name, region, date, upload status) is stored locally. - GPS track files — each session's track is saved as a file on your device until you delete it or the App data. This data stays in the App's private storage and is not shared with other apps unless you explicitly export or share it. 3.2 On Our Servers When you tap Upload for a session, we send the GPS track (location points and timestamps) and the session metadata (name, date/time, region, and your user identifier) to our backend (hosted using Supabase). This data is stored so you or your organization can use it for reporting or integration with other systems. We do not automatically upload your data; uploads happen only when you choose to upload a session. 3.3 When You Export or Share If you use the Export or Share feature, the App prepares a file containing your session data (e.g. in JSON or text format) and lets you send it to another app (e.g. email, cloud storage, messaging). Once you share, that data is subject to the privacy practices of the app or service you share it with. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Data Sharing and Disclosure - We do not sell your personal data. - We do not share your data with third parties for their advertising or marketing. - We may disclose your data only: - To our service providers (e.g. Supabase) who help us run the App and backend, under strict confidentiality and data-processing terms. - If required by law (e.g. court order or lawful government request). - To protect rights and safety (e.g. to enforce our terms or protect against fraud or security threats). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. Permissions We Use Location: To record your GPS track while a survey session is recording (foreground only). Internet: To sign you in, load region options, and upload sessions to our backend. Data Retention and Your Choices - On your device: You can delete individual sessions from the App or clear the App's data. Uninstalling the App may remove locally stored data, depending on your device. - On our servers: If you want your account or uploaded data deleted from our systems, contact us using the details below. We will process your request in line with applicable law and our retention policies. You can also log out at any time from the App's profile screen; this removes your account data from the device but does not delete data already uploaded to our servers unless you request deletion. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. Security We use industry-standard measures (such as HTTPS) to protect data in transit. Data on our servers is stored using modern hosting and access controls. Data on your device is stored in the App's private storage. Children's Privacy The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
